OFFICIAL RULES
(the "Official Rules")

The Johnson Inc. (“JI”) “2024 WIN 1 of 2 $5000 Travel Voucher Contest” (the “Contest”) begins on May 1st, 2024 at 7:30 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on December 31st, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”). The Contest is run by JI (the Sponsor).
ELIGIBILITY:
1. To be eligible (an “Eligible Person” or collectively, “Eligible Persons”) you must be, at the time of entry:
  1. a legal resident of Canada (excluding Nunavut) who has reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence;
  2. at the time of entry into the Contest a member of a recognized group of the Sponsor. For the purposes of this Contest, “recognized group” means an employer group, professional association, alumni association, union or other group, excluding Servus Insurance Services, Scotia Bank Home & Auto Insurance, groups that offer home and auto insurance through Perkopolis, and groups in the Program Retail Sector, that are a beneficiary of a valid insurance program agreement with the Sponsor.
  3. have entered the Contest in accordance with these Official Rules.
2. You are not an Eligible Person if you are:
  1. an employee, officer, director, representative or agent of the Sponsor, its affiliates, advertising or promotional agencies, or any other party responsible for administration of the Contest;
  2. a member of the immediate family (defined as parent, child, sibling or spouse, regardless of where they live) or reside in the same household of any of the persons in paragraph (i) above (whether related or not);
  3. a customer of the Sponsor who has a line of insurance through the Sponsor that is cancelled during the Contest Period by reason of fraud or non-payment of premiums; and/or
  4. a legal resident of the Territory of Nunavut.
HOW TO ENTER:
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
2. For the purposes of this Section:
  1. "Travel Insurance Policy" is defined as a Travel insurance policy underwritten by RSA or Beneva Insurance Company under Applaud affinity group and administered by the Sponsor;
3. An Eligible Person may obtain up to two (2) entries as outlined below:
  1. Complete a MEDOC phone quote and providing full legal name and contact information (Maximum 1 entry)
  2. During the Contest Period, an Eligible Person may scan the QR code and be taken to the online entry form. By completing the online entry form, an Eligible Person enters the Contest. (Maximum 1 entry)
4. Odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
5. All eligible entries shall be placed into a computer database and a random computerized draw will be conducted to select the winner of the Contest, as set out in more detail below.
PRIZES: There are two (2) prizes (each the “Prize” and collectively the “Prizes”) available to be won, each consisting of five thousand dollars ($5,000 CAD) payable via travel voucher to the winner. Maximum of one (1) Prize per Eligible Entrant. Each prize is awarded at the end of the contest period.

The Prize is non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize of equivalent or greater monetary value if the Sponsor is unable to award the Prize as described. The Sponsor disclaims any warranty, representation or guarantee express or implied by fact or in law relative to the Prize, including but not limited to its quality and condition.
PRIZE CLAIM CONDITIONS: In order to be declared the Contest winner, the selected entrant who is an Eligible Person will be required to correctly answer unaided (mechanical or otherwise), a time-limited mathematical skill testing question by telephone. The selected entrant will be given five (5) minutes to answer the mathematical skill-testing question. The selected entrant will be initially contacted by telephone or e-mail (if consent for email communication is provided) within sixty (60) calendar days of being selected at the telephone number or email address provided by the entrant at time of entry. The Sponsor will subsequently make four (4) more attempts to contact the selected entrant by telephone and/or e-mail within a period of not less than thirty (30) calendar days from the date of the initial contact. Entrants into the Contest are responsible for checking their email accounts and spam filters. In order to be declared a winner, the selected entrant must reply within ten (10) calendar days of notification to provide to the Sponsor a copy of their valid government issued photo identification confirming eligibility (non-relevant personal information may be redacted) and signed and have returned to Sponsor its Declaration and Release Form (the “Release Form”) which (among other things): (i) confirms compliance with these Official Rules; (ii) selects and acknowledges acceptance of the Prize as awarded; (iii) releases the Releasees (as below defined); (iv) if requested by Sponsor, agrees to provide a photograph and/or video of himself/herself with the Prize; (v) consents to the Sponsor’s use of his or her name, address, voice, statements and photographs or other likeness for publicity purposes without further notice or compensation; and (vi) agrees that the Official Rules and Release Form shall apply to and be binding upon his/her heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns. For greater certainty, for the purposes of this paragraph, “notification” shall be deemed to have been received by a selected entrant when the Sponsor either speaks to the selected entrant (if by telephone) or receives a non-automated e-mail response from the selected entrant (if by e-mail).

If a selected entrant: (i) cannot be reached within the timeframe noted above; (ii) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question in the timeframe provided; (iii) fails to provide proof of eligibility (if requested); and/or (iv) fails to return the properly executed Release Form within the specified time, then he/she will be disqualified and forfeit his/her opportunity to receive the Prize and the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may select another entrant from the remaining eligible entries (who will be subject to disqualification in the same manner). This selection process may continue until another winner is determined or until there are no more eligible entries, whichever comes first. The Sponsor will not be responsible for failed attempts to contact a selected entrant.

Upon receipt and verification of the Release Form together with a copy of the valid government issued photo identification, and subject to compliance with these Official Rules in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, the Prizes will be delivered by the Sponsor to the confirmed winners of the Contest (collectively, “Winners” and each a “Winner”).

The Prizes will be sent via registered mail to the Winners, unless a Winner makes arrangements for in-person pick-up at one of the Sponsor’s offices, as mutually agreed upon by him/her and the Sponsor. By accepting the Prize, the Winner acknowledges that the Prize becomes his/her sole and exclusive responsibility and that the Sponsor shall not be held liable for any harm he/she may suffer as a result of accepting and/or using the Prize. As well, following delivery of the Prize, the Sponsor assumes no liability of any nature whatsoever in the event that the Prize should be stolen, lost, destroyed or misplaced by the Winner. The Winner is solely responsible for the reporting and payment of any and all taxes that may result from claiming the Prize.
PRIZE DRAWING: On or about 30 days after the end of the Contest Period, a random computerized drawing will be conducted from all eligible entries received, for the purposes of selecting two (2) potential Prize winners. The draw will take place at the Sponsor’s office at Fort William Building, 10 Factory Lane, St John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The selected entrant will be notified in accordance with the terms and procedures outlined in Section 5 above.
RELEASES, ETC.: By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, its advertising and promotional agencies, third party websites, including Meta Platforms, Inc. and X Corp. on which the Contest is advertised, or any other party responsible for the administration of the Contest including the Travel Agency (if applicable), and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, owners, partners, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns, as well as (if applicable) the supplier(s) of the Prizes, its affiliates, authorized retailers, successors, officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents and their respective affiliates (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any and all claims or demands, liability, action, cause of action, loss or injury, use or misuse of the Prizes (including reasonable legal costs) of any kind whatsoever including but not limited to, those for personal injury, death or property damage which entrants, their heirs, successors or assigns may have or could have suffered by reason or arising out of the entrants’ participation in the Contest and/or in connection with accepting and/or using the Prize as awarded and fully indemnify the Releasees from any and all claims by third parties related to the foregoing.
META PLATFORMS, INC, X CORP., AND OTHER THIRD PARTY WEBSITES: The Contest is in no way associated with or sponsored, endorsed or administered by Meta Platforms, Inc. X Corp., or any other third party websites on which the Contest may be advertised. By entering the Contest, you completely release Meta Platforms, Inc. X Corp., and any other third party website owners of all liability in connection with this Contest. For greater certainty, Meta Platforms, Inc. X Corp. and other third party website owners are included in the definition of “Releasees” for the purpose of these Official Rules.
MISCELLANEOUS: All decisions of the Sponsor are final in all matters relating to the Contest and binding on all entrants. Entrants who have not complied with these Official Rules are subject to disqualification. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. Entries submitted by third parties and any entries or prize claims that are automated, late, lost, stolen, incomplete, illegal, fraudulent, illegible, unidentified or delayed will be void. If, for any reason, in the Sponsor’s sole opinion, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest, and/or cancel the selection of the Winner and redo the draw, in the event of an administrative error or other error of any kind.

The Releasees are not liable for faulty computer components, software or links, viruses, the loss or non-existence of communications capability, or faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible, or erased computer or network transmissions that render an individual ineligible for the Contest. No responsibility will be taken for lost, stolen, misdirected, delayed, destroyed or illegible entries.

The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. The Contest shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the Province of Ontario, including all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, rights and obligations between entrants and Sponsor and procedural provisions without giving effect to any choice of law rules. Persons found to be abusing any aspect of the Contest or the entry process, or otherwise not displaying appropriate conduct, will be disqualified from the Contest, and may be disqualified from any future contest or promotion offered by the Sponsor. Any attempt to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages or other remedies from any such person(s) responsible to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any provision of the Official Rules is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then the Official Rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein. Should a Winner make any false statement(s) in any document referenced above, that Winner may be required to promptly return to the Sponsor the Prize.

In the event of any conflict, discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of this English version of the Official Rules (the “English Rules”) and disclosures or other statements contained in any other Contest-related materials, including, without limitation, the French version of these Official Rules, the terms and conditions of these English Rules shall govern.

For the identification of the Winner or for a copy of these Official Contest Rules and Regulations, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Johnson, 10 Factory Lane, St. John’s NL A1C 6H5, Attention: Kevin Tremblay, within one (1) year of the end of the Contest Period.
PRIVACY AND PUBLICITY RELEASE: By entering the Contest, entrants consent to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information by the Sponsor and its authorized agents for the purposes of administering the Contest and fulfilling the Prizes. By accepting the Prize, the Winner consents to the use of his/her name, address, voice, statements and photographs or other likeness and waive any applicable moral rights for advertising or publicity purposes carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor without further notice or compensation or liability or obligation to the Winner and shall be asked to sign a document to this effect. Personal information provided by entrants will not be used or disclosed for any other purpose without consent, except as otherwise permitted by law. Johnson Insurance is a tradename of Johnson Inc. (“Johnson”), a licensed insurance intermediary, and operates as Johnson Insurance Services in British Columbia and Johnson Inc. in Manitoba. Home and auto policies are underwritten exclusively, and claims handled, by Unifund Assurance Company (“Unifund”). Described coverage and benefits applicable only to policies underwritten by Unifund. Unifund and Johnson share common ownership. Auto insurance not available in BC, SK or MB. Home and auto insurance not available in NU.
